31_days had some kickass themes for January, so I thought I would do them. Since 31_days is meant to be a daily challenge, and the day is drawing to a close without me being any closer to posting on LJ, the DW version of today's prompt is going up first.

For the31_days theme: 01. maybe god can be on both sides of the gun
When Homura fires a gun for the first time and feels the kickback against her hand, she thinks this is dangerous.
When she starts on target practice, and becomes more precise with each shot, she thinks I can control this.
When she finally uses a gun to fight a witch for the first time, she thinks I hold this dangerous power. I can use this to protect Madoka.

In the ruins Madoka raises her Soul Gem, an offered prayer, a benediction. She is smiling.
Helpless in the face of such power, Homura invokes Madoka's name before she pulls the trigger.
