Against my better judgement, I popped in episode 2 of Puella Magi Madoka Magika last night.
Last night's serving of Madoka Magika was a cappuccino because it was HIDING A SHOT OF ESPRESSO UNDER ALL THAT FOAM. I gleed when Madoka talked to her mom, but was not so gleeful when it turned out that only potential magic girls could see Kyuubey.
And then he UPPED THE CREEP FACTOR BY ALLOWING THEM TO TALK PSYCHICALLY TO EACH OTHER. UP TO 3 PEOPLE.
Now I love telepathy (And back when I still wanted to be one of the X-men I wanted to be psychic). However, I think it's very wrong for a creature who grants people's wishes to have psychic powers. I wish for a lot of things during the day (like making the time go faster). But whether I want to act on them is another matter. And uh, having the potential wish granter knowing my secrets? Meh.
Also on the secret keeping - while I love that the show addressed secrets, I felt a bit like Hitomi. The secret was designed in such a manner that it couldn't be revealed. After all, Kyuubey was in plain sight and he would have been the easiest way to explain all this. Except oops! he's invisible to most people! It's a very divisive control.
Witches freak me out, especially this one with the RANDOM SCISSORS. I think I have a fear of scissors, especially when paired with delicate things like butterflies. And witches don't even look human anymore waaaaaaaah. The suicide scene was also creepy. And the way the sun set while Mami was explaining? AAAAAAAAAAAH.
In conclusion: I better save the next few episodes for the weekend. Lack of sleep is not so great at work!
