Due to some RL happenings, I was looking for a good place to write my thoughts. I found myself thinking that there was no good place, then had to stop and go, "waaaaaaaaaait a minute". How can that be possible when I have a DW, an LJ, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter...
I realise that now I have an uneasy relationship with social media. Perhaps it's from the old days when online and offline were kept pretty separate. Now everyone I know has Facebook, and sometimes I write Facebook posts with specific friends in mind.
But my attempt at keeping RL out of my DW/LJ is kind of ridiculous. Writing is so much part of my day-to-day that the little hints of what I do offline creep in. Even my latest reading was prompted by RL happenings that I learned about from both FB and Tumblr. And I do have a "life is weird" tag.
Yet I won't put things about my writing and reading on FB. Yes, there are friends on FB who know about my writing, but there's also colleagues and ex-classmates. I'd rather put pictures of food and holiday photos and share random tech articles with them. (Though maybe DW/LJ folks might appreciate these...)
Maybe I'm not comfortable in my identity (identities?) yet. After all this thinking, I'm probably not going to put the RL happening that triggered this thought here. It strikes a little too close to home (literally).
