A quick reaction post otherwise I won't be able to sleep. Avengers the movie was really that densely packed.

First, omg this movie really is every single movie ever. You have:

a) Alien invasion, quasi Aliens quasi Transformers
b) Somewhat Men in Black vibes
c) Angry Norse Gods
c) Occasionally getting revenge
d) and playing mind games
e) Sometimes with super spies
e) Who also participate in interrogations, mind games, fistcuffs AND explosions
g) War movie
h) Sci fi hacker movie
i) I'm actually sure I missed something out but hell if I can remember what it is

More importantly, the movie SOMEHOW HANGS TOGETHER. Yes, it's kind of a grotesque jigsaw puzzle, but you actually get a recognisable picture at the end of it. And it's a fun recognisable picture. There are lots of comedic moments, and everyone's always fighting someone else, even allies sometimes, whether it's with violence or words.

Because of that, there's something for everyone. Me, I groked onto the Black Widow. At the beginning, Natasha fights someone with her hands tied behind her back to a chair. She did it way better than Charlie's Angels. It's also all mind games with Natasha - she makes a sobbing sound when Loki appears to find one of her weak points, but the very next moment she says she's figured out Loki's plan. You never quite know where you stand with her. It's kind of exciting. =)

Other moments I enjoyed: Nick Fury being a BAMF everywhere, covert operations everywhere, Iron man suit disrobing pr0n, Pepper getting Tony to do his homework, Steve's manpain taking the form of multiple punching bags, unexpected ramifications during a Thor-Iron Man-Captain America fight (charge of 400%, hammer + shield = SHOCKWAVES EVERYWHERE), Tony and Banner talking nerdy, Steve doing some B&E, Hawkeye taking down a flying ship with a task force, any scene where Natasha is fighting and finally multiple scenes during the alien invasion (the one I can remember is Stark being awoken by Hulk shout, lol).

That's a fair bit of the movie right there. =)

In conclusion: I ENJOYED IT, YOU SHOULD WATCH IT. 3D would be nifty, but 2D is perfectly acceptable too.

And maybe now I can sleep given that I got all that out of my head. =)
