US Trip - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I'm not going to apologise for not posting because not only did RL called, it screamed, hollered and knocked the door down.

What happened is that I was sent for a course in the US by my company. It was partly work, partly reward - once in a lifetime trip to go overseas for less intensive work. So of course I called up my ladies: [livejournal.com profile] himawari, [livejournal.com profile] jaina and [livejournal.com profile] tenebris to come hang out. I would've hung out with [livejournal.com profile] hallowd too, if I hadn't needed to rush back for work.

So how did it go? The short answer is - epicly. I don't believe I've met so many people and had so many experiences in a short frame of time. In fact, the trip was so epic I got stalked by a song. This song: Lady Antebellum - Need You Now

The long answer?

Good Bad

  • I have over a thousand photos

  • Washington is cool

  • Chillaxing with the ladies was awesome!

  • AND WE DID NOT KILL EACH OTHER

  • DESPITE SHARING A ROOM

  • And reading doujin that [livejournal.com profile] jaina brought mmmmm

  • Mari is awesome and knows plants and is very talented in driving in strange places and handicrafts and she gave me a goodie bag. Literally.

  • The bag had a world map on it <3

  • Ten is amazing and says cool stuff in cool ways and was the de facto tour guide

  • Jai is snazzy and knows cool places in NYC and was very patient with my geeking. In all areas. XD I also hung out with her twice!

  • We saw monuments

  • We saw museums, and I went to an art gallery

  • We geeked out over planes, among other stuff

  • We caught several sunsets

  • I met other really cool and really nice people from all over the world.

  • I went to Times Square! And the awesome Toy'R'Us! And M&M World! And also Wall Street and a farmer's market in Union Square

  • I watched an awesome rendition of Chicago!

  • I checked out some awesome views from Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building and randomly, various buses

  • I also tinkered with random pianos in NYC, and actually heard a jamming session on one of them

  • I had the most awesome meals - yoghurt to die for, carrot cake to die for, fresh salads and sandwiches, diner breakfasts at IHOP and a family run diner, milkshakes to die for and the BEST CHAR SIEW I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE

  • I lost weight =)

  • I have over a thousand photos

  • I did not like New York as much =(

  • Not so much chillaxing was done with colleagues

  • I apparently do not like shopping as much as I thought I did!

  • Skeevy people asked me if I had a boyfriend

  • One of them kissed my hand and another propositioned me

  • Going through security in US is annoying

  • I hated my hostel bed in NYC

  • Didn't go to the Guggenheim or the Metropolitian Museum

Ugly

  • I lost my temper at people D=

  • I flunked my course test

  • I was so jet lagged upon returning that I slept every chance I got - which explains why I'm only posting a week later

So there you have it! I guess it was a good trip, but I feel a little roller-coastered and need a bit of a rest now. Photos under f-lock when I finish sorting through them =)
